Abstract
The purpose of this study was to spot the improvement in mother-child interaction and the variation in the mother's recognition acquired during relationship-play therapy. 3 pairs of children and mothers with imperfect attachment type were the subjects. Relationship-play therapy consisted of 8 sessions, each of which was conducted once a week for 40 minutes. For the first 4 sessions, the mother underwent therapy with the therapist, and for the last 4 sessions the mother and child underwent therapy. The effectiveness of play therapy was proven by the before-after Marschak interaction method and subjective observation proceeded by 3 other researchers. The results were as follows. First, the positive behavior variation was observed in the Marschak interaction method between the mother and child. Second, the variation in the mother's recognition about her child was shown. Third, the mother was able to recognize herself positively and it improved her child-rearing method. Therefore, relationship-play therapy has been very effective when it comes to positive interaction changes between the mother and child.
